Description
Blanketing valves are used in nitrogen-inerted tanks to regulate the pressure of nitrogen (N₂) entering the tank.
This inerting process provides several important benefits:
- Prevents tank corrosion and protects the stored fluid from degradation caused by moisture.
- Reduces the risk of explosion by diluting the oxygen inside the tank with an inert atmosphere.
- Protects the surrounding environment from direct emissions of gases stored in the tank.
- Protects the tank against implosion in the event of excessive vacuum conditions.
